There has been drastic improvement in air quality in the last 50 years, and that was accomplished without the draconian policies that are helping to ruin this economy. The point is that CARB is now following a political agenda, and is not so concerned with fixing environmental problems. As an example, I was looking at a CARB table that showed monitoring of various pollutants since 1990. They didn't start monitoring CO2 until last year. How will they establish what the base level they are trying to achieve under AB32? It also indicates that CO2 was not a pollutant then, but now the definition has been expanded to "green house gases" to cast a wider net for CARB's authority. CARB may have been useful in the past as a scientifically based organization, now they are statisticians using extrapolated numbers to pursue a political agenda, at the unreasonable expense of every Californian. It's time to disband this CARBuncle on society, and reinstate some sanity back in state government. Who will pay for their programs after most businesses are overly restricted or shuttered, and they have reached their credit limit in the financial world?
